Great country love songs

Music is a powerful form of communication, as it is a universal language. Not everyone has the same taste in genre, but all the classy people love country, and that’s a fact. Known as generally positive, and loved for its chord simplicity, country music is popular for many, many reasons. Country songs are typically quite emotionally charged, with lyrics that tell meaningful stories, and for this reason, they make fabulous choices for weddings and romantic occasions.

With that in mind, we’ve made a list of all our favourite romantic country songs, to help those who might be planning a wedding, engagement party, vow renewal or anniversary celebration. Make your occasion extra special by playing some, or all of the following:

  • You’re Still the One – Shania Twain. First released in 1998 on Valentine’s Day, You’re Still the One not only topped the Country and Adult Contemporary Music charts, Twain also won two Grammy’s for the hit. With lines like, “you’re still the one I run to, the only one I belong to” and a catchy melody, it is little wonder this has been a popular wedding song for over 20 years now.

It just keeps getting better…” This is another classic that is still popular at country and rustic nuptials to this day.

You don’t even need to be a country fan to feel the emotion of this song, and be swept away with dreamy lyrics like, “I’ll give you everything I can, I’ll build your dreams with these two hands…” and, “For better or worse, ‘Til death do us part, I’ll love you with every beat of my heart…I swear…” Guaranteed tearjerker!

  • When You Say Nothing at All Keith Whitley. First made famous by Keith Whitley and going to the top of the country billboard charts in 1988, this song has been performed by a total of three amazing artists. Alison Krauss and Ronan Keating each released popular versions, and you can take your pick on which you prefer, they’re all fantastic. Nothing beats the romanticism behind the message of, “The smile on your face lets me know that you need me, there’s a truth in your eyes saying you’ll never leave me…… You say it best, when you say nothing at all.”

  • In Case You Didn’t Know Brett Young. Time for a modern hit that makes your heart flutter. Released in 2017, this song is sure to make your guests swoon over your love story. Best lyrics are courtesy of the chorus and say something like this, “In case you didn’t know, Baby I’m crazy ’bout you, and I would be lying if I said that I could live this life without you.”

Of course, songs are more than lyrics, because music conveys emotion that words can’t say alone. Any written description of any love song will fail to do it justice. With that in mind, we recommend you follow the links attached and check them out for yourself. We might be a little biased, but we truly believe country has some absolute winners in the romance department.
