Local function and event venue, Buttai Barn, has reached an impressive milestone this month, a successful 35 years in business. To commemorate this momentous birthday, owners Garry and Marilyn Maddison celebrated country style as they have helped so many others to do for over three decades.
Joined by a bucks night party group, two birthday girls and many loyal patrons, family and friends, the Maddisons cut their chocolate birthday cake to applause from all around. Buttai Barn was our dream, said Marilyn of the celebrations, its wonderful to be here, looking back on everything we have achieved over the last 35 years. Theres still a lot more to come, many exciting days are ahead.
The barn was constructed in 1982, primarily by Garry and Marilyn themselves, with a vision of providing a fun, country venue where patrons could come and let their hair down. Opening night 35 years ago was a full house and a sign of good things to come. Buttai Barn has evolved over the years into a versatile location, hosting everything from simple country shenanigans for friends, to corporate functions and elegant, rustic weddings.
With fabulous music and poetry shows to entertain country fans at lunch time, to buckin great nights out on the weekend, Buttai Barn has established itself as a trusted venue in the Hunter Valley. The Maddisons attribute their success in the industry to their passion for the barn and making lasting memories for their guests. Marilyn says, Theres beauty in simplicity, thats why getting out to the bush for old fashioned fun is so attractive to people of all ages. Life is too short to be busy all the time. We have had so much fun watching our guests enjoy themselves over the years and look forward to the good times yet in store.
