Well, August has been and gone, and here am I only just writing my blog for the month.
We had a fabulous response from our TV ad on NBN encouraging people to book early for a discount and it actually did work, so we're looking forward to a very busy Christmas.
It's easy to see that the Wedding season is nearing, because every Saturday night we had a Hens' Show, with the Hen dressed in the obligatory wispy veil, or g-string over the top of her jeans, but we don't seem to see the inflated condoms adorning the Bride-to-be's head any more. Shame, that......it was always such a classy touch.
Some interesting stories from guests over the month - Marissa, who works at Hunter Water, celebrated her upcoming marriage to an Aussie whom she met in the States, is getting married in the US and then returning to Oz to settle with her Groom. And then there was Jarkko and his mate from Finland who are here on a 12 month working visa and determined to see as much of Australian culture during their stay and really loving Australia. Well, why wouldn't he - we must be the luckiest country on the planet when you look at the strife and political unrest in the rest of the world.
The year is racing away and we'll have five weddings over the next couple of months. The Barn looks quite spectacular when decorated for a wedding, with millions of twinkling fairy lights, diaphonous tulle everywhere and a lovely fairy-land like atmosphere. I love to see the expression on the Bride's face when the lights are lowered and we turn on the fairy lights - it never fails to elicit a gasp and sometimes even squeal of delight.
Oktoberfest is just five weeks away and I'm trying desperately to get Channel 9 to release footage of our Slap, Slap dancers which they have on file from a KAK show that they performed in. It shouldn't be so hard! The dancers are quite happy for us to use it and surely when we are using the footage for a Commercial on NBN I honestly can't see where the conflict lies. They're just beeing precious.
Time for me to get ready for the Spring Racing Carnival at Broadmeadow - tickets compliments of NBN - thanks Barbs.
