After much toing a froing between NBN and Channel 9, the final answer to using the footage of our Slap, Slap Dancers for our ad, was a resounding NO, so David Threlfo from NBN very bravely worked some magic with my very amateur vision which I shot 3 years ago, and put together a great ad,

September saw a varied month with Greg North, the Australian Bush Poetry Champion, once again entertaining the crowd with his rendition of "The Man From Snowy River" in 14 different accents, with matching hats.  Greg is a very funny, talented fella, whose performance includes poignant as well as humorous poems, and his grasp of so many different accents is a joy to behold.

We entertained 170 K, Yr.1, 2 for one of our Australiana Day presentations.  I can't believe that it's over 23 years since we first instigated these events, and during the Bi-centennial year, we would have up to 400 kids a day rotating between 5 or 6 activities throughout the day, with Gary practically having a stroke trying to keep all those balls in the air at the one time.  The things we used to do:  a tractor/trailer ride around the property, with dozens of squealing kids hanging over the sides, with no thought of Public Liability.  The tractor getting bogged in the creek on one occasion and the teacher

quite aghast because the children weren't wearing their "walking" shoes - I wonder what purpose  their school shoes served?  Sheep shearing demonstrations were popular until the sheep went berserk one day and jumped up and broke the shearer's nose but all those activities had to be curtailed with the introduction of much stricter rules regarding Public Liability, which took a lot of the fun out of those manic days.  We now run an indoor program with Bush Dancing, Ned Kelly shooting up the place and Gary demonstrating his cherished farming and domestic implements, which the kids love.  Kids don't know that if you beat cream long enough, you end up with butter.  Amazing!

September also saw Foster Carers Week, and we were very happy once again to have Allambee Youth Service celebrating the wonderful care given to kids in need of a family by those special people who have the necessary grit to perservere for years to make a difference to those young lives.

Numerous Hens' Shows, celebrations from 13th to 80th Birthdays and the first offive weddings to finish off the year.

We're now gearing up for Oktoberfest on October 29.
